Donovan Gilbert
Donavon was born at Billabong Station out of Mullewa in 1974. He has lived in Wiluna nearly all his life, attending the Wiluna Remote Community School and High School at Meekatharra.
Donavon displays a remarkable sense of design in his paintings. His works often depict bush tucker, particularly Honey Ants and Bardies (Witchery Grubs), Goanna and seeds, which he incorporates into contemporary designs.
His works are of a third dimension where he would place one dot on top of another and another. Donavon was invited to join AACHWA (Aboriginal Art Centre Hub Western Australia) as a committee member and, if nominated, a Director representing Tjukurba Art Centre here in Wiluna. This will be a great honour and opportunity for Donavon to learn new skills adding to his portfolio.
